I don't have a problem with either movie. I never saw the original hithcher I saw the remake first and I liked it. Tcm was a great remake too.

The remake wasn't that good as compared to the original. Honestly, I'd watch the remake of Halloween or Texas Chainsaw before The Hitcher remake. In the original Hitcher, Rutger Hauer is very frightening.

Far more brutal I can see, but how was it more realistic?? There was a much smaller family, no "distant relatives" all over the place, everyone acting more like actual psychos... >.<

I'm gonna agree with Briggs on this one. When I first saw the TCM remake, I was indifferent and I still am about the movie. But the original was more realistic because the camera was like a second person. The voyeuristic shots, the grain of the film, the absents of music at points, the subtlety...
